Post Election Day

11.07.2018

My computer crashed and I lost about a week’s worth of journal and readings. Pics are stored on another computer so I can go back and reconstruct.

The election day card was Five of Pentacles reversed. Good card for the day. Got almost 24 hours of relief too, before shit hit the fan with Sessions.

Yesterday was extremely stressful. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to watch elections.

The news people get so wound up. I remembered too late last night that CNN gets confusing, especially when they’re going back and forth between what’s happening now and what happened in the dinosaur days.

Democrats did a good job, better than what I thought we would do – the beginning of the night wasn’t overly optimistic and I had to keep telling myself: it’s early. It’s early.

I was really hoping that my state would come thru with the governor and senator, but it wasn’t to be. I feel that the guy running for governor shouldn’t have conceded right off the bat – why do they do this?

But it’s not about me or my state. It’s about the country at this point and things have worked out the way they were supposed to, I guess.

I see a bit of doom and gloom in some of the news I’m reading. I don’t see why. While dems won’t likely get alot “done” – I bet there will be a lot of pushback – at least they can put some checks on this president, which is more than what we had.

Sadly, they don’t start until January.

And now I’m understanding why some folks voluntarily left this admin. Whenever one of the good guys leave, it’s like, why? We need the good people there!

This is why:

They can do better work from the outside. Turns out they’ve been working their lil ol butts to the bone. I follow a couple of different people that talk about their organizations that are doing the same thing.

In the beginning stages of the Trump admin, I heard about something along these lines. It was on a news organization site – I think it might have been Washington Post, or maybe even The Hill.

Had a really long discussion with my millenial/genx/genz – not really sure what label they fall under, lol, but they fall in one of these groups of kids who are going to be political bad asses. They care about everything. We talked about the importance of voting, and researching who you’re voting for and what you’re voting for.

I had been hounding them to do this for months and they brushed me off. So I did some research and put it all down on paper, gave them a copy when we went to vote. They learned the hard way yesterday.
